Hey kids,

I love my 55 but the lift, huge tires etc is too much for my use. Tired of lifting the wife and kid into it all the time. Plus I might wheel it once a year if I'm lucky. Plus, I suck at wheeling.

I've been planning on switching it back to a stockish/slightly modified truck. Then I did the math of the costs of new springs (to undo the SOA), tires, rims, steering set up, paint, etc and thought I'd try this route. I doubt it'll sell but if someone has a stockish pig and wants a built up one, maybe we can help each other out. If it doesn't sell, no worries

1974 pig (Built 10/73)
originally from Texas
2F engine rebuilt with roughly 12k miles
4 speed with new xfer case fr/rear output seals
4 wheel disc brakes
Custom HD driveshafts
Parking brake set up
New custom Exhaust
new clutch
SOR carpet kit
Excellent black PVC floor mat set
nice headliner
Air Conditioning (needs a fixin)
new dash cap
Aftermarket buckets up front
SOA with new shackles
Rear locker (Lunchbox type)
New oil pan gasket
New 35" TrXus
extended brake lines
new IPOR rocker replacement panels (not installed yet)
New HEI dizzy
Started making new door panels. got one done so far and can finish the others quickly
New stereo with IPOD input
SOR visor covers
New pass side mirror
glass excellent
interior very clean
Floors excellent except for one area on the passengers floor and another small area in drivers rear side
rebuilt rear window motor
Tons more stuff I've forgotten about

Has some rust issues but nothing too bad. 2 body mounts need some attention and the rocker panels need to be welded in. spotty rust here and there but not all bad. I get stopped constantly by people asking about the rig.

My ideal truck would be an original paint scheme 55, stock rims with hubcaps, 33" tires witha 2.5-4" SUA lift.

I have about $12k wrapped up in this so far so I'll say $12k or best offer. Very flexible. Located in Millis, MA (30 miles from Boston)

Total longshot that this will work out but you never know. I'm happy to keep picking away at it. Hoping someone has a nice pig they are thinking of building up...maybe we can save each other a lot of money and time. Otherwise cash is king and I have a 55 I'm thinking about now.

(Note: second pic was taken in a sloped parking lot, hence the lean to the passenger side)

Bump for trade. Found a house I might buy and no chance of this fitting into the new garage

Thanks for the bump. Doing door panels, brake lines, tie rod ends and drag link this weekend. might hafta build a new garage as it'll be tough to let this go I think

My new digital camera is on the way in the mail. there are 2 body mounts that are shot. others are fine. Once the rockers are replaced, most of the open rust will be gone. Other areas are bubbles under the paint. I'm making new door panels. Floors on the truck are excellent aside from one spot above one of the body mounts. Has new SOR carpet kit, beautiful original black PVC floor mat and headliner is very nice. Dash is in great shape

bump. still waiting for my camera to arrive.

Made some new door panels today. look great. crappy phone pics

Bump. Found a stockish 55 that will work for what I'm looking for so looking to sell.

I've done all new tie rods and tie rod ends plus a brand new draglink.

Also made custom door panels for all the doors and cargo area. Came out really nice in black pleather.

Shoot me a reasonable offer....you might be surprised!!

Where did you see that he welded the gears? It says it has a lunchbox locker in the rear and nothing stated in the front.

Jeremy

It has a rear drop-in type locker, not welded. The axles have been cut-and-turned and gusseted. The axles will last longer than all of us I bet!

Might have a trade deal working......

dash is really nice although the pic sucks. any parts you see missing will be bolted back on in the next 24 hours like the air cleaner, door handle, window crank, stereo speaker. Other than the welding issues the truck doesn't need any parts.

My bad, got it mixed up with dtrain's pig with welded axle. This looks gorgeous and is even more tempting now, I've been following it on ebay.

Hafta pass on those. Thanks though. AK is a hike for shipping anyway.
