Here are the rear quarter panels that rusted along the seams with the wheel wells. Had a shoddy welding job done to suit the needs at the time before it was bondoed and primered. I have recently removed all the filler to expose the welds. Driver side is in the worst shape but you don't have the gas tank to contend with.

1974 FJ40 for sale. Great project vehicle with lots of parts. Ready for body work and paint. Needs welding in rear wheel wells and rear quarter panels. Front end is rust free. The motor is original, rebuilt and runs great. Steering and brakes require attention. No hard top. Diamond in the rough ready to restore your way.

$4600 or best offer.

Wanting to sell this truck to make room for other hobbies. It has been in my garage for the last 10 years functioning as camping and boat storage. I keep it running and drive around county roads a bit but have hesitated to put any money into it. The rear wheel wells had rusted out around the jump seat brackets. I did a quick job cutting that out and have left it be. I'll add some more pictures if I can figure out how.
I have the jump seats and they are in decent shape. I have the rear doors that have some minor rust on the bottom. Trying to get the steering and brakes working properly. The brakes do not leak but need to be overhauled, pulls hard right. Replaced the steering ends but needs an alignment. Just rebuilt the clutch hydraulic linkage, new fuel pump, battery, battery mount, cables and put new shocks on it.
Everything is original nothing has been modified. Starts right up and sounds beautiful.
I'm more in to boating and wood working than I am mechanic-ing.
This thing has been in my family for close to 30 years. It was a daily driver from 1980 or so until around 1999. I'll consider any reasonable bids and if you are in the area contact me to come take a look. At the least I might get someone to help me work on the brakes.
Thanks,
Scott

the wench is in working condition.
you can see the areas of the wheel wells that need to be patched and there is some rust where the bed mounts are.
If anyone is interested in taking a look give me a shout.
