no, it's a 78...mostly. The biggest difference in the cowl between those years is the vent, correct? I'm very much learning through this process so please call out any concerns I'm ignorant of.
I'm disappointed in my cowl now that everything is disassembled and blasted, especially the creative way the PO remanufactured the lower section of the cowl to the frame.
I'm building it for me, and not to sell, so I'm not looking for everything to be period correct. It's part original, part aqualu, and I plan to use early doors with a soft top (because I have them and like them).
I have a friend that's capable of doing the necessary metal work, but when good parts pop up in the northeast I debate the best course of action.
That 74 was stored in a garage from 1987 before I bought it. PO removed the dash and did a weird wood custom dash that had stereo and speakers. So there’s self taping holes on that metal lip that holds the pad. There’s a few more small holes trough the cowl for accessories. This is for what I remember? I will pull it out of the shed this weekend and take some pics. For sure it’s a straight and good cowl !
as for the other question, negative, working on my sons 78 ..... just got too many parts and trying to get organised on what to keep and what to sell !
