For Sale:

My beloved FJ40, I unfortunately do not have enough time to drive it like it deserves to be driven. I would rather have it go to someone who would take care of it and love it as much as I have. Please note that I do not have to sell this I would just rather someone have it and use it more than I can. If it doesn't sell at my price then I'm just going to give it to my first born son one day. I live in Arlington, Virginia and I'd be willing to delivery the vehicle within 75 miles.

I bought it in 2010 from a guy who recently moved from California to Virginia then promptly lost his job and he needed to unload his toys. It had been a west coast vehicle since its inception. It received a frame off restoration within in the last 10 years and the frame was sandblasted and coated, painted, engine swap, etc. Actual mileage on it is unknown, but the odometer shows 24,xxx. It has a 3 speed transmission. It has a lift on it, not sure how high but you can see from the pictures. Oh it has power steering too that was added by the PO.

Stuff I have done since I purchased it:
-new distributor (1 week ago)
-new master brake cylinder
-rebuilt brakes all around
-new tie rod ends
-recent oil change

Full disclosure, this vehicle is not perfect nor should it be. This could be a daily driver if you didn't mind the gas mileage. Here are the issues that I must tell you about:

-drivers side inside front fender damaged from previous owner
-drivers side door frame damaged, but door still works (I typically never had the doors on to begin with)
-rain gutter on roof is rusting around front edge
-rear differential needs TLC, front wheel drive only right now, transfer case is fine, its something in the rear diff, wheels are still locked and roll fine.
-doors were re-painted by previous owner after he had a couple frosty beverages (hence the reason I typically don't drive with doors on)

It is a great off road rig, it drives better off road than on road in my opinion! I have driven it on weekend trips to the trail (+300 miles round trip) without any problem except for a whiny girlfriend because she says her hair gets messed up with the wind blowing and the top off. I have driven it down to the OBX from Washington DC every summer to take it on the beach down there. It runs like a champ! Starts up every time not a problem. No leaks, drips or anything from the engine, it is a tank. If you're looking for a cosmetically perfect vehicle then go somewhere else if you're looking for a fun go anywhere rig that will blow your hair back then this is for you. I have kept it garaged or covered its entire time under my ownership. As I said before the frame is in great condition no rust spots etc. There are some rust spots on the tub under the passenger door, but that's cosmetic.

message me with questions and I will try to answer. If you have specific things you want pictures of let me know.
