1973 FJ40 Ground Up resto... Horizontal Blue

I started this project roughly a year ago...

It started with a simple restoration and turned into a full restoration... There isn't a good place to end with one of these I figured out!

It was all taken down to pieces, with the body left on the frame. Everything was pulled from the firewall, dash and interior before it was painted.

So to make a long story short... everything got done in a year that should have taken 4-6 months.

There are only 4 things to finish up.

-swapping the current brake booster for a 3FE brake booster
-need to install an aftermarket radio or new radio? Any suggestions?
-rear cargo carpet needs installed
-console needs installed. Should i go stock or Tuffy?

So, I thought I would throw this out there. I have a spot reserved for the Russo and Steele auction in January.

If I could get my minimum of $30K I would let it go before hand.

I will get her out in the sun tomorrow for more pics. I just snapped a few as it was to dark to pull it outside.

Thanks for looking everyone.
Any input?

I want to know where you guys get all your experience to restore these yourselves? Bump on the awesome color and cautious preservation.

There is a lot of knowledge on Mud in general. Any question you may have someone on here knows the answer. There are a lot of good websites devoted to cruisers too. I've been fortunate enough to have a good and very knowledgable friend in the business-Greg Overton...www.myfj40.com He has answered a lot of questions for me pertaining to the originality of specific years and models.
