The vehicle is a 1973 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40. It has a clear title in my name and current license, although it is not insured because I have not been driving it. I would like to trade for a vehicle listed below or would consider an outright sale.
I got the vehicle after it had been sitting for awhile. I have had to replace alot of the parts etc. and am running out of time prior to winter. I'm also not sure that it is going to meet my needs in other ways. Time being one of them.
Current condition:
The good.
The body has some rust in the front floors but the outside looks decent.
It has a newer 2F engine with a header that runs alright.
I have replaced all the bushings in the rear end. The fronts are here, I just need to install them.
It has a PTO winch
It has the extra tank in back underneath the tub.
The windshield is new, never seen the road.
The starter is new, from Napa a geardriven one.
It has some 33" tires, one with a defect but matching.
The bad.
The Cruiser needs some tlc overall. I have been playing with it since about April with very little time to fix things. What I have fixed has been done correctly and works good.
Here's some items to look at:
The top needs some help, the fiberglass is cracked, but not broken off or anything. I have a spare parts top.
The drivers side window regulator is faulty
The drivers side door is cranky
There are some mild electrical issues that keep it from being truly street legal. Note, this does not mean that they system is hashed, just that it needs some grounding etc. It is not a pile of spaghetti.
Basically the Cruiser needs a weekend or two of TLC to get it in order. It is alot closer than when I got it and maybe I should make the time to finish it off.
Here's what I am after.
I need a running/ currently driveable FJ 55, FJ 60 or maybe an early Bronco as a trade. I recognize that they will likely need help to, but I need something that I can use to pull a small car trailer fairly quickly. I am not able to travel great distances etc. You would likely need to come to me to complete the transaction.
Additional Parts:
I can likely come up with an SM420 with a PTO. I have some other extra parts, but not much truthfully.
My location is: Klamath Falls area, Southern Oregon
Price: I am not looking for a direct sale, but would look at cash offers.
