1971 Toyota FJ-40 FS in WI NEW PRICE, or without engine
1971 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 $3500obo
Originally bought in Georgia four years ago. Then it went to Iowa and I purchased it this summer and brought it home.
THIS IS WHAT WAS DONE BY THE PO WHEN I PICKED IT UP.......
All new brakes with all new cylinders, pads, and brakelines.
Professionally rebuilt 350 engine by Stewart’s Performance here in Cedar Rapids, IA, with high performance camshaft, Edelbrock carburetor on new Eledlbrock manifold, and Ceramic coated hugger headers, custom dual exhaust - Runs Beautifully!
Also has a brand new radiator, a new GM high output alternator with new battery to prevent any cooling or charging system problems - Trouble Free! Bulletproof TH350 automatic transmission - Smooth Power!
Some More Good News:
• Advance Adapters twin stick transfercase shifter.
• Transfer case recently completely rebuilt by a local machine shop
• 4x4 Labs’ Hi Steer conversion using a stock FJ-40 colum and GM power steering.
• Metal Tech’s nose guard and stinger with custom mounts for easy installation or removal
• Spring over axle conversion.
• Auxilliary fuel carried in Summit Racing 12 gallon fuel cell installed under the rear floor - no more gas smell in the cab
• Nissan Motors racing seats with 4 point safety harnesses - really comfortable!
• All new Summit Racing and VDO gauges including clock and programmable speedometer. The speedo needs a sender.
• New heater from Summit Racing works better than the original ever did.
•New Diamond Head Lamps with white H.I.D. bulbs – not installed yet
Issues: There are a couple rust spots in the rear corners which I have pictured. Where the rear sill meets the floor there's some, and the rear floor has 3 or 4 small rust holes. But for the most part the body is in real good shape.
THIS IS WHAT I HAVE DONE WITH IT....
I brought the truck home with the intentions of driving it right off the bat and fixing the issues it had and making a really nice weekend driver out of the rig. The wiring was a cobled mess and I proceded to remove all of the harness and build a new harness with a stock FJ-40 harness. I have the harness and will include it with the truck. Currently I have the engine/alt/battery on standalone where it can be started and moved. The steering was also a mess and I removed the GM column it had and have a stock FJ-40 column that the fabrication is done and it just need to be installed. The seat mounts were another saftey issue and I removed all of the crap brackets and made new seat brackets that can use the stock gas tank if desired. Seats also are removed and need to be installed. The body was in very good shape with little rust on it. It will need a new rear sill, or the current sill could be fixed. The rig runs excellent with no smokes, knocks, rattles. It will need shocks on all 4 corners.
I also have that is included.
1 kayline softtop that will go with the rig (older style non zipper out windows)
1 set of supertop soft half doors
1 crackless windshield
2 doors from a 77, driver and passenger that are in great shape with nice in interior.
1 extra windshield frame with good glass
1 nice gas tank from a 77
1 stock FJ40 rollbar
1 rust free center hump that is now cut correctly for the twin stick
A ton of other misc pieces and parts for a FJ-40. Some you might keep, others you can sell.
Tires that are going on it are roller 31's, not the 31's in the pics on the other posting.
Basically with a little time and effort, you would have an excellent southern rig that could be either your daily driver or off-roader or resto candidate. The new owner can either take the rig as it sits (Which I would do, so you can finish the inside of the tub and the body work), or if you need it to be in trailer driving shape, I can install the column and the driver seat. It would be easily loadable onto a trailer or a dolly. You will not drive this home! Of course clean and clear title in my name. If you want a cruiser that isn't a rusty pile and you want something nice and clean to start with, this is the rig.
Any questions email me at weigellj@yahoo.com
RIG will have to be picked up in HARTFORD WI.
old thread from PO with pics. I can take current pics if someone needs them. Just email me. Thanks
