I am thinking of selling my 55. I bought this truck last year, did lots of work over the winter, but I have decided I wanted to go a different direction.
1971 Landcruiser fj55
-small block chevy 350 with edlebrock intake, webber carb and other goodies, rebuilt by previous owner - lots of torque
-custom dual exhaust/glasspacks
-4 speed toyota manual transmission
-Saginaw power steering swap
-4 wheel power disk swap with:
-new fj-80 toyota master cylinder
-minitruck conversion w/ new 93 4runner front calipers with vented discs and new pads. New seals, new knuckle bearings, new wheel bearings, good condition birfs, good condition Aisan manual hubs, etc during swap.
-poser brackets to upgrade from rear drums to disks
-new rear GM metric calipers, vented rotors, pads
-new lines
-body in good condition w/ minimal rust for Canadian pig except in front floorboards. Body mounts have been repaired.
-frame solid with no rust
-newer 32" tires and 16" steel wheels
-electrical in good working order including rear window/tailgate
-alpine cd player with new speakers
-new interior panels in rear, with custom foam mattress for camping
-all windows/seals in good shape except crack in windshield
-clean title
The truck runs and drives well and can be driven home. I have priced it for what it is, as it could use more tlc.
Issues:
-Front body mount repair by previous owner is not well done. Will come with a set of weld in replacement floor pans/body mounts (just bought off of Lee out of 55 classifieds - photo there)
-windshield cracked, but not in line of sight
-base of rear seat needs new upholstery
-gas gauge, speedo(due to stripped out speedo gear), parking brake not working
-engine runs strong but could use a tuneup/carb adjustment as it is running a bit rich
$3800. I mainly want to see it go to a good home and get started on my next project this summer. Interested in trades for a toyota truck. Will consider other interesting trades as well.
