1971 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. Vehicle manufactured Nov. 1970 but first sold in 1971. I've owned this truck since 2008 and as near as I can tell I'm the fourth owner. I have a bundle of old paper work that came with the truck, old receipts, old registrations, old maintenance records as well as the original owners manual. All stock, runs, drives, and stops well. Frame and VIN numbers match and title is clean. All the glass is good. This is a California truck with little rust. Small dent in rear door panel and the outside latch handle is broken. Overall body in very good shape. When I bought the truck the interior floor pan was covered with indoor/outdoor carpeting and during the winter months the carpet became wet and, I would guess, it was just left sitting that way all during the wet weather months. As a result the interior floor pan has some rust and in a few small spots are rusted through. The rear heater has a small leak and the gas tank, when filled over half full, gives off an odor of gasoline, but I never found a leak or where the smell was coming from exactly. All stock running gears front to back. Three speed transmission on the column. Original 1971 1F engine replaced in 1975 with a 2F engine by the second owner. The odometer has not worked since I've owned the vehicle, so I have no idea what the original mileage might be, but with the exception of the odometer, the speedometer and all other gauges are working.
Since I've owned the vehicle I have had the stock Aisin carburetor rebuilt by Mark's Off Road Ent. I also have replaced the brake shoes, brake cylinders, brake master cylinder, clutch master and slave cylinders. Had all the brake drums turned, and have replaced the intake and exhaust gaskets. I also have a few miscellaneous parts: two brake drums, three brake backing plates with brake cylinders, miscellaneous tune up parts, two heater ducts, exhaust pipe, and the original rear step and a front tow bar.
