In the process of reupholstering my stock seats. After removing the torn covers, destroyed foam, and burlap, I discovered I had a busted spring beneath the driver's cushion. Since they are virtually unobtainium, I decided to take a spring from the middle seat cushion (far back) and transplant it to the driver's seat. I then cut off all but the top ring of the broken spring. I retained the top portion of the spring , so I would be able to join it to it's neighbors as they connect to one another. Beneath the ring I placed a chunk of medium density foam topped with heavy duty underlayment. Probably could have just placed the chunk of foam beneath the busted spring on the driver's seat, but I wasn't sure how much support it would give. So far, it looks like it is going to work great.

I had a broken drivers seat spring a while back. I fixed it with a roll pin from the hardware store. It slipped over the two broken ends and joined them back together. There was some minor fitting work involved. I can look for the pictures if you want.

Good idea. Thanks for the offer to send pics. Feel free to post for others, but I've already reassembled the seat with foam, etc. If you post pics, do so on my other seat thread... I accidentally hit send prematurely on this one before I had a chance to add a title, etc. I don't know how to delete accidental posts...
