1970 FJ40, no title. Last registered in Illinois probably in the late 1970s. I do have a bill of sale from the previous owner. Obtaining a title in WI for something of this vintage probably wouldn't be a problem. I just never did so because this FJ was on plow duty for a few months and has sat ever since.

I have another 1971 FJ40 with an SBC 355 and don't have any interest in restoring this one or parting it out. At one point I wanted a Toyota engine in the 71, but am just working with the Chevy powerplant.

The good:
Brand new electric fuel pump
Engine purrs like a Toyota should. Starts, runs, idles, and sounds great
Transmission shifts great, three speed column shift
Carb was recently rebuilt
The odometer reads about 80k, it is probably actual mileage. From what I found out this was used on a farm throughout the 70s and 80s.
Exhaust from the engine back was recently replaced.

The bad:
The body, interior
Tire/Wheel mismatch
Roof is wooden. When I bought it, it had shingles on it and leaked pretty badly. Since then I reinforced the "roof" with angle iron and a tarp on top. Doesn't look great, but does the job and keeps all water out.
A lot of the electrics/switches don't do anything.
It will either need a full restoration or you will be using this for parts.
Fuel tank is a plastic aftermarket unit

The engine and transmission are worth at least $500 in my eyes. I'm asking $1000. Open to all and any offers since I could be way out of line with my assessment.

Should sell at that price. Glws

Would this make it to lacrosse if driven?

lol. Not legally or safely. I've never driven it over about 15mph or more than 1 mile.

Maybe if you were to put on new wheels/tires and service the brakes it might have a chance.

Pm me your contact info ill call ya tonight
