1970 FJ40 FS in North Carolina for $8,500

1970 all original, rebuilt F engine less that 5K miles, white outside, grey inside with black seats. 3 on the tree, PTO winch, 15" Toyota T100 rims with 31" super swampers, pertronics electronic conversion from points. Hard top in good shape, Bikini top great shape, extra seats (ok), extra tires on white wagon rims, extra set of hard doors (need paint), 2 stock roll bars (one ok, one rusty), front and rear heaters, lots of extra goodies including manuals Hayes and specter, and toyota training systems manuals.

Inland North Carolina vehicle never exposed to sea salt or road salt. Hand sanded and repainted, no rust before or after. I am 2nd owner.

Needs carb rebuild to be cherry...Foggies need to be wired in, but worked fine when they were on prior auto...engine bay last area needing paint...just have not had the time or $$$...otherwise it is good to go.

Located in Charlotte. Lots of TLC in this TLC, hate to sell but need the $$$.

Here are some pics. The first one is how it looked when I got it, the other two are front and back. As you can see from the pic, the stable is full of cruisers.

I have some of the rubber gaskets for the top / doors, but they are not installed yet...again, time and $$$. It has minimal rust that I cleaned up 95% (just a bit of surface rust under the rear quarter panels like what it looked like under the front fenders in the "before" pic) as I did the paint (wire brush & sand paper by hand, rust primer/sealer then paint). It has tons of goodies that will go along with it...or I'll face the firing squad from my wife.

I have driven it back and forth the Uwharrie a couple of times, and took it on mild trails one time. It felt great, but I did not put it through the rough stuff. I drive it at least once a week, just too many projects right now and not enough $$$ to make them all happen.

This group is funny, I just read a post on a super build and sale and repurchase of the same vehicle. As I have gone through the roller coaster of want, find, build, wheel, fear of tearing up baby, sell, withdrawl, repeat. My first step is to admit I have a cruiser addiction! Mud in the veins. More cruiser please!!!
