I have decided I must sell my Squareback to make room for a 1977 Vw Van I am buying. I love the squareback, just always wanted a van, and I know I am going to regret selling this car in a month or two. It's a rust free car from Northern Cali. After I got back in from Japan in November I bought the car and drove it back to Georgia. Runs great. No problems. Invested around $1500 after I bought the car. Fixed dash where it leaked water like all Squarebacks. Just needed to have vents cleaned out for the defrost. Currently the speedometer doesn't work. I think the guage went out. If you can find another one I'll hook it up before you get it. The only rust is the battery tray and back floor boards. I just put a Bosh 009 Distributor with electronic ignition on it. I also put a solid rocker arm kit in. Fresh valve adjustment. New plugs, New fuel pump. Heads tightened. New brake lines and wheel cylinders. Awesome car!! Must see and drive. New Tires with about 2000 miles on them. Had paint put on it a few years back, but still looks good. Interior needs work. Headliner is ok, carpet ok, just old. I am using pics from when I bought it in November, the only thing that has changed is that I have put the nose emblem on, another wiper arm, and steering ring with emblem. I'll lose money on this car, but I finally found a van with a/c! Lots of money in the engine on this squareback. I was told it had 90 or 90.5 mm pistons in it. So that makes it around a 1776. Call if you have questions 706-969-3277 anytime. I'm always up and on the go. I have so much done to it I can't list it all. I have original title and receipts from the last 6 or 7 years. Thousands of dollars worth. In Cleveland, Ga. Mud Price $3100

I should paint it to match my 60 and use it for gas mileage purposes. It has the same shape. Look at my pic of my truck vs. the one of the squareback up top. hahaha

Squarebacks are neat

I owned two of these - a 69 and a 70 back in the mid-70s. Like a fool I sold the last one to buy a new 1977 Vega GT Wagon. What a POS that was.

The squarebacks would get 35 MPG and chirp the tires going from 1st to 2nd gear when tuned right. A good vehicle for sure.

Yeah the gas mileage is phenominal! I should hang onto it, eventhough I just got a 77 vw van as well. It's nice to have the economical value for when I'm not in the cruiser

This one is just like the one my parents owned, which had the distinction of giving me my first "behind-the-wheel" experience...I released the parking brake and rode with the car all the way down the driveway and into the front of the neighbors' house...I was 3 years old...1969....my driving has improved somewhat since then...
