Looking to replace an original 1967 gas tank.

Looks like CCOT has 1968 and later available....anyone know where I can pick up a new tank for a 1967?

As a side note, I am in the process of adding Fitech EFI with a Hyperfuel unit too the new tank.

The earlier tank is NLA, but with a little massaging, you can make the newer tank fit. It has standing seams that partially interfere with the outboard front seat leg on the passenger seat, as well as one of the tank strap hold downs. That is why it is not listed as a direct replacement.

I bought a new tank for my 72. The top of the tank is not flat like the original. I cannot install a Tanks Inc fuel pump module in it. Here's a pic from a google search. To the left and right of the indention are baffles. Just not enough room to fit anything there. Bottom of tank is same as the 71 & 72 tanks I have. So I am cleaning the rust out of the 72 tank and will be using it.

Thanks for both replies above guys.

My current tank is “clean” but has a small leak on the top seam that was repaired 15 years ago by a shop. I was thinking I was better off replacing the tank vs repairing it again.

I am going to have too figure out if it’s easier to do the repair and install the Pump in the original tank or modify a new tank......

Other than the baffling, are you sure the tank is deep enough to accommodate the FP? Most of the people who call me about this are looking to run the aux tank under the rear of the truck.

I know the Tanks Inc fuel pump module will fit in the center section of the 71-72 tank with the flat top. I had already mounted it but the bottom of the 71 tanks was very thin so now I am installing it in the 72 tank.
