Once again....I'll try to keep the story short. After I missed Whitey's SWB FJ45 on eBay, I started looking a little more seriously for a SWB. Lukezero's truck just wasn't going to work out for what I have in mind....I've got a serious trail rig and a backup wheeling truck and a few other toys, so what I'm looking for going forward is a mostly stock FJ45 with mostly intact body....mechanical is no issue for me. So, lo and behold, I found a 1963 FJ45 fixed top. The biggest issue with it, other than conspicuously missing parts, is the long list of "previous owner" mods. I'll post more pictures up later.
Here's my basic need list:
Bed (obviously)
Wiring harnesses (Coolerman, I guess I'll be in touch again, but I've got nothing to copy this time.
Early "in cab" heater to replace the retrofitted later one
Patch panels for firewall where the rib is
Patch panel for passenger side firewall where PO cut out fur later heater

I'm not trying to restore the truck by any means at this point...I just want to keep is mostly correct and stock for a 63 (except for dual circuit brakes), and to repair the previous owners mods to a decent level. Sometimes I think a license should be required for a welder and plasma cutter..............

A few more...you can see the portion of the firewall that I need where the master cylinders would go, as well as the section that i need to replace where the later heater is installed. I may end up needing the pedal hanger assembly as well...but I will have the pedal assembly, booster, and firewall section from a 78 available for trade:

Your lucky day...I just happen to have a 63 shorty UNCUT firewall.Shipping would be a killer, but if you shoot me some pics of the areas you need I can cut them out. I gave Mike a fixed top bed with the deal because it had a solid floor, but the sides are shot. You might want to contact(Mike Goodknight) to talk him out of it(It needs a ton of work but is restorable)
Probably the hardest bed to find.Let me know what else you need,I seem to have alot of odd stuff around here!!! Glad to see another shorty get revived!

Thanks Whitey...I will pm him tonight. Just having something to bolt on back there would be a start! Let me know if you've got anything else I need. Heres a few last pics;

I actually meant to post this in the normal FJ45 section rather than the classifieds but I guess it doesn't really matter.
Whitey...I'll be in touch.

Shane, i'll be grafting in a later 40 firewall ribbed section into mine, have spare set of later pedals and hangers you can have as well. When I started asking I came up with 2 sets.. DOH

If you want the older firewall section i'm taking out you can have it. (recently read about a non-boosted dual circuit system that would work for now)
I have a Whole firewall sitting in the back of my 45 awaiting time and space to line up. OR I can go get the other spare firewall at Chef's but i'm bettin butch has something in the field that's closer and cheaper. or give Edwin or someone down there a holler. I don't think i'll be using the "heater hole" side of the newer firewall either so that side very well might be up for grabs as well. Since you'll probably be taking some other stuff out of the garage this year figured it might be a good option.

Might want to get this thread moved to the normal ol 45 section.

Your gonna want to lock up that bezel in a gun safe.. if it's metal it's probably worth more than the goin rate of trading in your old bling bling to the pawn shop.

"Bed (obviously)"

Your gonna have to take more pictures of what the rest of the bed looks like before it's obvious. I will probably drill out and remove the floor of mine and take it to an old school metal guy to re-create.. I think Kevin's supports for the LWB should work on the SWB for the rest.
Dang I gotta finish up my home remodel / bathroom project so I can get back to Cruiser world.
There is not a lot to the beds, hardest part is finding an old school metal guy that has the capability to recreate the ribs in the floor.

Firewall, Pass side? your wanting old school non-heater or newer heater style? Mine's no-heater and will probably stay that way. I should have a newer heater firewall section for that side avail but not positive till I get that far. And it'd be as easy as bolting a plate over the hole for the blower. Use the plate to run AC / Coolant lines thru.

I might have been a little unclear last night, it was alittle late and there were a couple of Tecate's downed:beer:

The truck was sold as "complete, minus bed and seats" to quote an email. The bed shown in the one picture has already been pulled, so I have zilch in the bed department.

As far as the firewall goes, I want to put it back to stock for a 63 non-heater model. It already has a later model heater "installed" so I will pull that and weld the holes and patch for the big firewall hole where the blower now resides.

I also want to replaced the ribbed section of firewall and pull the later model pedal hangers that were "installed" and go back to originals with a non-boosted dual circuit master cylinder, as you mentioned.

Lastly....mods, any chance you can move this over to the regular 45 section??

SO what I pull out you want. You want old school. No need to ship anything from Whitey on the other coast, you can just have the stuff I pull out of the 45. Just give me some time to catch up. And it'll have been blasted and in epoxy primer.

I'm at a loss.. What the heck happened to the bed in the picture?

Exactly..I'm in no huge hurry. I just wanted to post up before I saw someone post up about how they just junked a good firewall last week.

Don't know where the bed went....it was an old "before" picture. If I were guessing, it went on another vehicle owned by the person I bought the truck from.

Update? You now have in your possession a "stash"
Villagers demand an update. Did i hear "big window" carb rebuild in process?
You've possibly acquired most of the needed "stuff" to start your winter in hiding in the garage correct?
Wipe the drool off your chin and post up some progress..

Oh....if you guys only knew. I've got to get the SC300 with the 1uz/ 5 speed conversion finished and out of the shop. Then, the Triumph bobber project is getting a new tank and fender and off to powerdercoat. Meanwhile, the 90 Samurai is getting finished and sold and out of the way. Then, I'll get the SC400 parts car back together and out of the shop so I've actually got room to work on Cruisers!!
I am now self-banned from buying any more projects until I get at least 3 others finished up before I end up coming home to an intervention! I'll post some pictures when I get a chance.
