SOR FJ25 rear bench seat cover is just that, it does not fit a FJ25 or FJ40 jump seat.

Not sure what the mystery is that is a 61 FJ40 rear jump seat. I have a couple of sets of these. Same as the FJ25 only the arm rests are lower like the later FJ40 with the single arm. The FJ25 arm rests are as high as the back of the seat. I would have to check but I think the cover was the same size until the 72 model that tapered on the front of the bottom cushion. I know all SOR are grey but red would be the correct color. Destin used red ones made by Shane. I would like a set but he doesn't make the matching pre 64 front seat covers.

John I think the mystery here is why does his late '62 cruiser have a '61 jump seat in it, modified to work as a bench seat. Are we sure this is a '61 rear jump seat?? because it wouldn't have come with this vehicle originally. All three of my '62's are older than Alex's and they had the single arm later style rear jump seats?

I supposed the PO could have sourced a '61 jump seat but that would seem a tricky situation seeing how few and far between '61s are

Alex do you have any pics of the back of the seat? Is the metal ribbed like factory jump seats?

I didn't catch that the seat cover was for the FJ25 rear bench seat not jump seat. Can't believe is offering a bench seat cover. How many are still around ofthe few 58/59 that had them? Three? So either SOR was involved in the Green that is in the Toyota Museum in CA and they used that as a pattern or the early front passenger's seat is the same size?:meh:

It probably would have been easier to source a 61 jump seat years ago then it is now. But what happened to the original jump seats? There may be another option. A PO removed the jump seats. Cut the arm rest off of one and welded it on to the other seat and installed it as a bench seat.:hhmm:

Seem's we need some better pics from Alex to solve this one

JP here you go. Back and bottom are ribbed, although bottom was rusted out beyond repair.

Don't know that it is worth fixing the "purist" way.

If it is indeed a '61 seat, then yes...I would say it is worth it to fix it the purist way as there are so few around. To be fair, it would be easier to find new long jump seats for your '62, than to fix this one...so putting this one aside for someone needing one for a '61 makes sense

Thanks for the pics! Certianly does appear that the PO sourced an original '61 jump seat and modified for a bench seat..... cool stuff.

I have some sand blasted '62 jump seats, if you are insterested Alex. They don't have rust issues as they came from the Nevada desert, but the frames did have some "fatigue" cracks/breaks that would require welding.

You can put an F135 back in, OEM rims with 700R15 tires, and look like the picture below...which is still one of my favorite cruiser pictures!

Anybody know what the name/code of this paint color?

That color has been growing on me. The 62 tub I have was white originally, probably Lily White. Been thinking about painting it back original instead of Sulfur Yellow. I would do it just like picture including that bumper and winch. Just need to figure the canvas out and I'm set.

How bout this?

I will trade early 61 jump seat shown for a set of long jump seats in good condition.

Anybody?

LOL, I'll trade you 1 solid long jump seat for your 1 rotten long jump seat!

I'm thinking of having it recovered and leaving it facing forward like a rear bench seat -OR- buying a trail max bench seat.

Regarding the color, anyone heard of Volcanic Beige?

Sneaky you are.....

It also has a later windshield:frown:

Are you guys sure about the Windshield being a later model?

It has 3 bolt holes in the WS itself like pictures Ive seen but it does not have the vent ???

Im not going to replace unless I find a killer deal on one, just thought I would ask the experts...
