My Dad has had a 1960 Type F J25L sitting on his property for 20+ years now. It is in good running condition. He drove it around the ranch for awhile, then parked it years ago. Since it just sits there, he is talking about selling it.

I am looking for some info on this truck and a ballpark value.

I will post some pictures of it when I cruise up to his ranch in a few weeks.

The one thing I do know about the truck is that all the bolts are aviation grade bolts.

Thanks for the help.

it's most likely earler than 1960

:confused:Curious why you think it's earlier than 1960. All four of my FJ25s have a 1960 production date. I would be more interested in seeing a FJ40 with a 1960 production date. I've seen claims that the FJ40 production started in 1960 just never seen one that the VIN started with 0.

The nameplate has the following info:

1960
Type F
J25L
Engine #F106***

Do we have a diamond in the rough, or were these pretty common ?

Thanks.

That motor number is earlier than 1960. If you haven't read some of the threads on early VIN plates try to find them.

The first number of the VIN is the production year (9FJ25xxxxx is a 1959). The year stamped on the VIN plate is most typically the year it was titled, and can be years off.

Diamond in the rough? Yeah, these things are so rare they're priceless. (It's about time I started pimping up values................ :grinpimp:)

Welcome, post up some pictures and register it in the Count the 25 thread. :D

I'll give you $500 right now.. where are you located? :grinpimp:
