Finishing up my restoration on the 85 4x4 XtraCab pickup, it has no lift with original suspension. This truck will be my daily driver and not a rock crawler. (Pictures coming).
I want to use a set of 17" FJ wheels I have and keep it as close to factory setup as possible.
I understand the issues I will have with backspacing and I will be using spacers.
I am looking at Kenda Kevlar A/T in 235/65r17 spec'd at 29.1" tall. Knowing that it came with 225/75/r15 at 28.3" tall.

Most of my driving will be road and I will always have a set of 31" tires I can put on if I wish.
I have not seen this combination before.

I have another option to use a 15x8 aftermarket alloys with 235/75r15 but the FJ wheels are much nicer.

Will I have enough sidewall with the 17"? Just looking for some feedback and comments...

That is a vey nice looking truck!

Thanks, that is the result of a 6 month long restoration project.
The black Plastidip on those FJ wheels did the trick.
