Need some advice on the wheel size and tires.

Getting ready my 2013 Sequoia for some expedition trips. Mostly back roads, fire roads, washed out roads, snow and some rocks may be.. but definitely not something too technical trails.

I have small lift done on it and now its time to get some 33" tires on it. thinking of KO2.

the rig currently has 20" stock wheel. Wondering what wheel size you guys suggest? or should i stick with stock wheel.

I am assuming 17" wheel will give bigger side walls.

what are the real advantages of having bigger side walls for my kind of ride ?

suggestions please.

More sidewall allows you to air down more, absorbs more shock from rough terrain, protects your rim from getting gacked, and looks better. If it came stock with 20s will 17s fit?

Go with 17" or 18" wheels. They smaller wheels are lighter, which gives you lower I sprung weight. Less I sprung weight gives you a better ride. The taller sidewall also gives you a better ride, and protects your rim better from potholes. The tires and wheels will also be cheaper. Smaller diameter wheels will do better in sand, as the more flexible sidewalks will expand better when you air down.

20" rims have two advantages: 1) the shorter, stiffer sidewall will handle a little better, and 2) you can fit larger brakes.

i think that you would have to go with 18" instead of 17" since 18" is a stock size. I would go with the 18", more flex out of the side wall, cheaper and more tire options, and if your on a trip easier to go to a tire shop and get something for the time being
