Just got back from a ski trip with the new (to me) LX450. With 90% highway and the rest in town I kept it mainly at 65mph and maybe 75 miles at 72mphish on cruise control. This was going uphill one way and downhill on the way back. There was quite a bit of traffic in some stretches, I punched it a few times to overtake, and I haven't even checked the tire pressure to see if it needs air! For the most part I was accellerating from a stop gently and not in a hurry at all.

The truck is 100% stock with stock factory roof rack and it went
280 miles with 17.3 gallons of 87 octane = 16.2mpg !!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce:

Pretty happy about that! Don't think I'll be tuning it up anytime soon. Wondering what will happen to the gas mileage when I put on the lift and 33's?

well, i have a different engine altogether but mine was getting a 10-12mpg with 265/75/16 michelins. I drove from KC to Denver and am still in the same speed range and mpgs with the original tires as I am now if not better!!! If I can hit 85 to 90 then that is the best to keep speed on up hill:) I couldn't even get there with the 31.5" michelins. Did the OME 3" with 33's and it was about the same. Now it gets better...how is that???? Prolly the 4.88's. Lift will increase your wind resistance but bigger tires mostly just slow you down uphill and decrease your rpms. Not always a help in MPG's tho. Keeping the engine close the the stock power band is your best bet. So if you go to 35's then re-gearing is in your best interest. good luck

I lost 2 mpg going from stock to OME heavy, 295 BFG and ARB (18 to 16 at 60mph). Odometer corrected, of course.
