Anyone have good suggestions on any containers that will hold this amount of fluid? I am about to change the hyd. oil in my backhoe and would prefer not to use 5gal buckets and a bag of dryzit after i spill it all over the floor like last time. It would be best if the container is somewhat low profile so i can slip it under the tractor.

If it doesn't need a lid, you could use a mortar tub- black plastic tub, comes in various sizes but think of a rectangular tub 2'x3' and maybe 12" deep. You'd have to transfer the fluid from that to your 5 gal buckets or whatever, and then clean it.

We just cut the top 2/3 off a plastic 55 gallon drum. Drawback is, not the easiest thing to move when full, best to use a transfer pump.

look on craigslist for plastic barrels. i see them all the time for $5-10 and you can get them small 30 gallon or smaller 15 gallon. the 15 gallon ones i have bought were used for cola syrup, still smelled like dr.pepper.

Hey,

You could also go get a big tupperware tub or trash can. I use a metal pail I got at the hardware store for my oil changes. A big metal tub like that used for dunking apples might also work. I like the plastic barrel best. I've cut up two and they are nice size for lots of things. You could also use one of those pans that concrete mixers use. i've seen them at lowes for pretty cheap. There are also lots of feed buckets/tubs you can get at Tractor supply or the local feed mill. Cheers, ty

Not totally liquid-tight, but you can snap the lid on when it's full and when you drag it across the floor it won't slosh all over the place.

Install a drain on this and put it on a wheeled furniture sled and it'd be golden.

A small stock tank would do nice too.
