So either I am going nuts (most likely) or I am missing something completely.

I did some engine work and one of the things I did was rebuild the injectors... well had them rebuilt.

So I'm looking over pictures and everything before I install and I feel like I'm missing something.

They got rebuilt and I order the new stuff for install (crush washers and rubbers)

But here is my confusion.

11176 is my loss. The upper one is a rubber o-ring. Easy enough

Here is that part number... looks like little washers

But they only fit over the tip. And there is a little groove on the injector that looks like something would go there.

Am I missing something or does this washer sit somewhere in the head between the injector and something?

@Cavalier2000 Thats exactly where it sits. It the sealing washer for the injector. Its a soft metal which conforms to irregularities between the head and injector sealing out high pressure combustion gases. Make sure the old ones are removed from the head so you don't "double stack"

And the groove is where the o-ring goes.

There is no o-ring there.
That groove is the parting line where the injector body unscrews apart for servicing.
11177 is the square profile rubber ring that goes up top, and 11176 is the injector seat that prevents combustion pressure leaks.

And 3 yrs later I rebuild my 12HT injectors and this is correct. The shop that does the rebuild and pressure test should supply
appropriate washer for reinstallation as well as putting on new nozzles. Denso only!
Next year the 13BT get done.
