I have an '88 BJ-74 with 13B-T. I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico at 5,000 ft. My cruiser was obviously from sea level. It blows copious amounts of black smoke when accelerating, or starting in cold weather. I frequently drive as high as 10,000'. The higher I go the worse it gets. So, can I get smaller injectors, or, increase turbo boost, or reduce fuel pump pressure to lean out my fuel/air mixture? Or, are there any other ideas that I didn't think of to fix this problem?
Thanks,
Rob

Sounds like it could also be injectors. You will find out if turning up the air doesn't solve your problem. How many kms since the injectors were inspected and serviced? It could be that your injector tips are worn and your spray pattern has become a dribble pattern.:rolleyes:

I should start with the simple and less expensive things ..

1. Air filter ?

2. Fuel filter .. ?

3. Add more boost ( boost controler - bleeder for your CT26 ) and check if that reduce the black smoke.

4. Buy a Pyro Guage

5. Finaly get the injectors services ( here are very cheap like 25 USD per injector .. )

let us know ..

P.S. maybe your HAC isin't finction well ..
