Just like the title says does anyone know the capacity of these engines? I tried searching with no success anywhere.
Thanks

The 3Bs need 7.3 litres for a dry fill. The 6 cyl diesels need almost 10 litres.
Buy 10 litres and you will have enough for top ups

In my 13B-T I get about 6.5lts out of the engine with the oil change. I've been wondering why
I don't get 7.3lts. I only wait a couple of hours for it to drain. Should I wait longer or is 6.5lts
reasonable. I have been reducing service intervals to help clean the engine. I hope I don't have sludge.

I just did the change on my 13B-T 6.5 liters of oil and it registers full on the dipstick. Any more oil added and it starts to leak around my oil cooler.

7.3 is for a dry refill ,like after a rebuild or when its new. There is lots of nooks and crannys that you can never drain 100%
All diesels have some sludge, but its heavy and stays put.

I pulled a 1HZ apart once and the sludge in the sump was about 20mm deep:eek:

Cheers Rosco,

I thought that might be the case. I have run engine de-sludge stuff through before oil changes and haven't
noticed any increased oil capacity. The old girl is still going strong after 23 years so the PO's must have
looked after her. I'm doing everything by the book to keep her in good nic. Cheers to another 23 years.
Knock on wood!!!

After 1000kms my oil is stilll golden. NICE!
