...finally got to the glow plugs in my starting woes, aaaaaaaand they're dead, no continuity and unlimited resistance...

...could it be that the Wilson switch giving continuous 12v to the 6v plugs has burned them out? original glow does ~6 seconds of 12v then drops to 6v...

...the OEM plugs 19850-54071 are NLA and a PO replaced with the alternative HKT PT-147 plugs, which are stamped 6v...

...looked online for a 12v alternative but no success. do 2L-T owners with a Wilson switch simply limit the glow time, or is there a better way?

...any suggestions gratefully received...

I bought my truck with a Wilson installed. I put 6v plugs and (unknowingly) burned them with Wilson in no time.
if you want to use Wilson you can put 11v plugs, like the 2lte engine has. Or stick with the super glow module and put 6v back in.
I run 6v on mine and made sure I disconnected the Wilson to prevent any accidental push. I also use a Webasto for coolant, that lessens the need for good plugs in winter.

Thanks @ALEXY that’s helpful - I didn’t know the 2L-TE plugs were 12v, but have ordered some.

I’m not sure the 6v glow timer is even there in this truck - very creative wiring from the PO.

…success!

…4x new HKT PT-151V plugs, a 6-second Wilson, and away she goes!

These plugs are the non-OEM replacements for 19850-54090 which are the 11v glow plugs for the 2L-TE.
