I need some help with my 12ht engine install in my hj75 ute. I'm trying to use the old edit wiring to give the VSV power. I worked out the green wire supplies 12 volts with ignition on but drop's power as soon as you key to start. The yellow wire supplies power when key to start but drops out when the key is returned to run. If I bridge these two wires together and run them to the VSV ? will this work or will the green and yellow together fry there relays.

I sorted it so for anyone going through this 12ht to 2h engine swap you can use the edit wiring. The yellow gives power to the VSV when the engine is running. The green wire gives power to the VSV on engine start and drops out when the key is released to run. The blue wire controls the earth side off the VSV and also controls the oil switch so on low oil the VSV will lose it's ground and shut the engine down.
So yellow and green needs to be bridged to power on the VSV and blue straight to earth on the VSV.
Hope this helps

VSV wiring to 2h 006.webp

I personally would eliminate the EDIC stuff and just use a hot wire from some other ignition related device..

Gday bloke, I’m going through the pain now so I’d like to ask do you have 3 wire coming off the vsv or 2 if you do have 3 how is it wired up pls as I’m un sure where the 3rdwire runs

Not sure what VSV you have if it has three wires. Have you wired it to a battery to see how it’s wired it may only need two wires to operate.

I cant get the motor to crank either not sure why this is?

Hi ozcruiser. Just preparing a 12HT to fit to our 60 Series and was very pleased to find your thread.

I’m planning on following your wiring advice above but wanted to check if yours is still working okay four years down the track?

Hey coldtaco. Thanks for sharing that solution. You’ve opened up a train of thought I hadn’t considered.

I like your custom throttle cable too. Is that the Lokar S1034 end on it?
