I checked out a pickup for a buddy yesterday and it is 12/94 production with a 22RE.
What month did the changes happen? 06/95?
The obvious ones are: 2.4 to 2.7, 3.0 to 3.4, OBD2, air bags, and slightly different body panels.
What were all the changes made?

Short answer - Everything.

The 95.5 Tacoma introduction was a completely new platform. Coil-over front suspension, redesign front diff, body, electrics, interior, dropped fully boxed frame, etc. etc.

I am fairly certain every part was new. Some trans and rear diff parts were similar, but still different. I also believe with the introduction of the Tacoma so ended the Japanese production of these units. Tacos are a US/ NA market truck only as far as I know.

Some informative reading directly from Toyota.

The Hilux is the non-USCanada Tacoma with a few changes, as best I can tell.

But, I'd imagine a few 3rd world countries somewhere may still produce the old D series-Hilux trucks.
