I never heard the whole story on that. I know we did an unscheduled lane change on that bridge, but we didn't have oncoming traffic:eek:

I started to go over the bridge and the rear end of my truck swung out on the ice. It was like I was drifting around the corner in a rice burner. I managed to keep the wheels somewhat straight and saved it once I was off the ice. Jack said he saw my right front tire come off the ground in the turn! It didn't occur to me what had happened until I had the truck straight on the road!

DAMN!
I strayed a little out of my lane, I could see Dan G doing the same behind me, but noting that exciting.

You might want to think about getting that HAM license, I managed to give a shout out on 2M to warn the group. My study guide is on load but I'm sure somebody else has one you can borrow.

It was scary to watch, I thought for sure he was going to hit the guardrail. Once he transitioned from the concrete bridge to the ashpalt, the tires grabbed and as the his rig corrected back to his lane, the right front tire got about 4" off the ground. The really exciting part was that just as he made it back into his lane, a car was coming from the other direction. Things could have been real bad.

I talked to Matt about the Ham stuff and as soon as he has a little more off of his plate (finals) I told him he was welcome to my book and DanG and I told him about QRZ.com.

Hopefully he will have a ham before Panamint in February.

I wasn't scared at all when it happened, just concentrating on what I needed to do in order to keep my truck on it's wheels and on the road!

After I straightened out the truck and was back in my lane I thought to myself, "Holy $hit, did that just happen?"

Jack asked me if the seat cushion was stuck up my a$$! :grinpimp:

yeah, I'll for sure have on before February.

I did get a nice little electronic device from my parents tonight as an early Xmas present. I'll take it with me tomorrow when I head to deer valley.
