I posted up about the 2012 Summit in the Trails/Events section here https://forum.ih8mud.com/trails-events-expeditions/569330-2012-summit-ouray.html and have visited with a few of you about this years event.

As a Hundy owner I would like to see personally invite each of you to this years FJ Summit. Registration opens tomorrow and you will start to see banner adds promoting the event on MUD. The Saturday night raffle is going to be huge with the grand prize of a TRD FJ Supercharger. Check out the website, FJSummit 2012 National Meet , for more info and a list of confirmed sponsors that will continue to grow.

July is a great time in Ouray and I hope to see you there!

Sincerely,
Matt Robb
Summit Director

Very Cool Matt. Hope to see you there!

Looks like a cool event in beautiful setting. I'd love to do it in both my Hundy and FJ

Jon, I hope to see you there as well.

GaFJC, bring either one, its sure to be a good time. The Hundy is more comfortable and a blast to drive over Black Bear!

Last year Woody was there in his 80 and I think there is a good chance he will be there again this year. Maybe he will chime in about his experience with a link to some of his photos.

I will say that Ben from Maxtrax will be there with his FJ and his HJZ 76. His wife will be putting together a presentation about the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles that they will be running their FJ in.

Friday night, Metal Tech will hold a Party at the saloon and they buy the beer!

Lots more in store...

Good Times!

I can attest the Summit is an outstanding event...I went three years ago and it was a blast. I still had my FJ Cruiser and left FJ60 at my fathers.....it was a memorable event and would like to do it in my LX as well one day.

The Metal Tech party is always fun....and we had a great auction to raise money for the Rescue Tellico Fund that year....

Have fun and wheel safe...

Registration is underway and in less than 12 hours we have 51 trucks and 101 peeps registered! This is gonna be a good one!

Getting a little head start on this trip visiting family along the way. Just crossed the FL line destination Birmingham, AL tonight. Anybody live around Clayton, OK? Might be in the running for the Iron Butt award if they do one...hint hint.

Any 100's care to share their trail selections? I just updated mine after receiving the tentative agenda.

Thursday Trail Run: Poughkeepsie Gulch at 08:00 AM
Friday Trail Run: Black Bear Photo Trail at 09:30 AM
Saturday Trail Run: California/Corkscrew Photo Trail at 09:30 AM

would love to see photos and video of a hundy heading down the steps on black bear!

You rang? How about 5 of them?

We are heading out on Friday and will be in Ouray on Monday!

Brock, you are still getting credit in the event guide for a pic you took years ago.

Yeah I went and checked it out....pic of SuFu's yellow FJ. Looks like they have used the same photo for every single year...hahaha.

I got better ones than that....maybe SuFu is getting royalties. :)

While I am not on that side of CO, I have been taking my LX out for some wheeling. We did some great passes near Aspen. Yesterday we went up Taylor Pass from Express Creek Road and back down over the Aspen Gondola. Picnic at the top (12,500') and everything.

There were tons of Polaris things and motorcycles on the trails. They all looked at my stock Lexus with my family in it in shock. On one very steep rocky climb, they parked at the bottom to watch me climb. The 100 didn't miss a beat, never slipped or anything. When we got to the top, they couldn't believe it.

Frankly, I cannot believe the stability, grunt, clearance, and ease of driving this truck in these situations. Shocks set to "comfort", AHC to High, transfer case in LO and this thing can go anywhere. Love it.

Oh, and I pulled a 6,000 lb trailer with gear, bikes, and a Porsche - plus a Thule box on the top, 5 passengers, and two small dogs all the way from Dallas to Aspen. Yep, even took that rig over Independence Pass. Truck took it all in stride!

You all are lucky to live in CO!

Thats awesome, I am always amazed and impressed at the off road capabilities of the 100 series, my stock 03 can do just about the same thing as those other guys with lifts, lockers, etc...and I can do it with the A/C on, kids in back, and some smooth tunes !

Matt, I'll have to miss this year, but I will make preparations for next year for sure!

Got an alignment on the truck today, detailed the interior (hasn't been cleaned since before CM) and am packing tonight for a weekend up by Reudi Res. with Rising Sun. Turn around from that for 2 days of work and then head south to the Summit on Wednesday! I'll be helping out on Black Bear on Friday most likely and will be hanging out a the TLCA booth a bit. Come say hi! Look for the dude with the beard. can't wait!
