Greetings,

I have to say, I don't normally do this, but just last week we went on vacation to Lake Tahoe. We rented a Ford Fucus. Needless to say, I missed my LC. So I started just seeing how many I can sight. Man, was I impressed at how many I saw between South Lake Tahoe and in the SF area. They were there like beetles were back in the day. It made me miss my truck even more!! I even got to talk with someone that had a nice black 80 series with a TRD package! The vaca was great, but going there made me think that most of the 100s produced ended up on the west coast. I don't see much around here in the Tampa area.....

Yep. Doing LA to Tahoe this weekend in my LX470. Last time I took that trip it seemed that Toyota/Lexus far outnumbered Mercedes/bmw. People on the west coast love their Japanese cars.

Be glad. I live in Wisconsin and they only like American made cars and trucks here and Harley Davidsons. I feel like a black sheep owning 2 Toyotas. Nobody even know's what a 100 series Landcruiser is here.

They sure do love their American made stuff here in the midwest.
I count a total of 3 Landcruisers every morning driving into work which is about 42 miles. Two 100 series, and an 80 series.

I commute a good 30 miles of I-80 in the Sacramento area every week. I have definitely noticed an increase of Hundy's going to/from Tahoe to the Bay, and it's awesome! Most of them are stock, but it's becoming more frequent to see them with mods like non-stock tires and trail armor. In general I think we will start to see more Hundys on the road in all states since they are becoming more affordable for an offroad platform, and now that there are more vendors making goodies for us.

One thing I'm curious of though -- where are all these Hundy's being wheeled at in the Tahoe area? Most of the trails here are either too difficult for the average IFS rig, or way too narrow/tight to squeeze a 100-series through the trees. It's one of the things holding me back since it's either be fully armored or don't even risk it.

People out here in CA definitely love their Japanese vehicles. It's not uncommon for me to stop at a light and see at least 75-90% Toyotas surrounding me
