Great pix, looks like big fun! If I ever get over my infatuation with SE Utah, will have to make a trip to that area. Is it mostly trail riding or are there more technical trails in the area?

definitely an A+ in the scenic factor

I wish SE Utah was cooler when I can take vacations! :D

San Juans are all about scenery. None are tough though Poughkeepsie has some challenges. At The Wall, you and I would have fun in our 80's. We'd try the center section. Probably roll!

Can't be to technical, John's got his arm out the window:rolleyes:

That's what I have always heard, thought there maybe there were some less known, more technical trails in the area? Have no problem with scenic trail riding, but also like mixing it up a bit. The mix is what I like about SE Utah.

I hear ya about SE Utah. And when wheeling for 4-5 days you do long for a hard trail here and there. Most of the "hard" trails in and around Ouray are rated that way due to extreme narrowness making them more suitable for a quad.

20 years ago those trrails had a LOT more pucker factor then they do today also a much more challanging. Back then Black Bear was so narrow you could not even get out of your Land Cruiser in a lot of places today they have bathrooms on them. They need to take the time to re-rate the trails.

Ya, I believe that. Back in 2002 when I did BBP it was really tight. The YouTube videos I watch today show more room around the vehicles. Somebody also posted pics of dozer work there about 3-years ago. I don't know how they could have widened it unless they just built up and packed the edge. ???

That was Mike from CSC that posted the pictures. He work on the crew that removed the fallen bolders off the trail. Trust me it wasnt tight in 2002, in 1990 you had about 3' behind you to back up the steep angle in the switchbacks and it was a 5 point turn in a FJ60.
