100 series tires?

I don't know if they would fit your needs but around here, you can usually find basically new Tundra TRD rims with Michelin AT 275/65/18's for $800-$1000 for a set of 4 (sometimes for a little less). Never ran them in mud but the set I had on my old 4runner handled the snow well.

Don’t mean to hijack your thread but I just bought a 100 with a 2.5” lift. It’s got 275/65r20 mudders on it. I bought the car for my wife and the mudders are pretty loud and seem to wander, so shes not too keen on them.

I’m thinking about switching them to my truck and putting something else on the 100. Would a 265/60r20 or a 285/55r20 look too small? I’m wanting something that is suitable for both DD and adventuring.

Round here running a 55 or 60 profile tire would be asking for perpetual side wall damage and punctures. You’d be better going down to a 16/17” rim for adventuring. 100s handle well with a 75 series tyre.

For the op - 255/55r17 is a good size. True 32”, skinny is better off road and if they’re cheap why not. You just need to source some 17” rims, later ones had these from factory (not sure about US models though)

Decided to find an existing tire thread. I currently have 275/70/18’s with stock wheels but every time I see a cruise with bigger overall diameter or beefier stance (sticking out closer to the wheel well vs inside it like my 275s), get the itch to change. Thoughts on the pros/cons of 305/65/18 vs 295/70/18. Can a 1.5” rear spring and and factory torsion bar crank accommodate at 295/70/18. And yah I know I gotta find a small shop to put 305’s on the 8” wheels.

305/65/18 will fit with no rubs at all. 295/70/18 will likely require a pinch weld mod. I’ve ran both and really liked the 305/65/18 on stock wheels. It looked great.
