I'm a decent handyman wondering where timing belt sits in difficulty for the 100 series. Done it twice, once on Isuzu rodeo super easy once on Geo storm super fuggin hard. Geo took 3 days. Isuzu took 4 hours.

Search function sucks, first result in 100 series search was a 4runner lol.

Look in the faq for the 100 series, couple write ups in there. Also, youtube search for toyota 2uz-fe timing belt. Read and watch them you'll pick up lots of tips. I personally thought the biggest pain of the whole job was removing the bracket bolts for the a/c compressor. Crankshaft bolt can be a bit of a pain - unless you remove the radiator and can slip in a 3/4" impact wrench - then it comes right off. Make sure you do all the pulleys, tensioner, and water pump while in there. Have fun!

They are easy to me. Maybe hard for you. Its relative to your experience. Read the faqs and search, then only you can determine if its hard or not.

If you've done a TB before on any vehicle, you'll be fine with the LC. The TB threads in the FAQs are outstanding for hints, shortcuts, and how-tos. I recommend you not start it until you have at least 2 days clear. There's always something that slows you down: part you need and don't have, something stuck, missing tool, losing too much blood, etc. It's a complex job, but doable with a decent set of tools and some time.

I just did mine last weekend (t-belt, water pump, idlers, tensioner, etc).

It took me every bit of 2 days, but I work slow, stopped a lot to help with the kids, and let the FIPG at the thermostat cure overnight. Nothing too difficult, but there are a lot of things standing between you and that water pump.

I'd call it a :banana::banana: job, any more involved and I'll be hiring a pro.
