60 v 100

I thought the 60 and the 100 were about the same size... then I put them side by side and took this... hundy look gignormous

after driving jeeps (CJ and Cherokee) and then followed by FJ60, FJC and 100 series....I can say that the hundy does not feel bigger to me on tight trails than the FJC. I think it is because of the A-pillars on hundy..you have more visibility and excellent all around. I never hit a tree or rock on our tight eastern trails in FJC but I had little to no "getting used to it, time" required when I took hundy out first time. Between FJ60 and hundy...about same thing...biggest thing for me was getting used to using an auto again on trails....and not having a rear locker. At no time did the size of the rig impact my ability to wheel our narrow trails....or lessen my comfort zone on technical sections.

I am not sure if that is due to experience.....or the same 120 inch wheelbase they all share making them all feel relatively the same size other than a couple inches here or there for width, height, length.

it was a Non Issue when I really was expecting a huge difference.... Learning where all my underbody parts are when traversing rock and boulder fields to keep from smashing them was the hardest part.....imho

That is so true. Crash protection standards have made the A's so large on new vehicles that they've created a blind spot hazard up front. Very frequent to lose a bicycle, pedestrian, or even small car behind the A-pill in the company Colorado.

i think you missed the point

uh, then what was the point? I thought Brock was saying the FJC (newer vehicle) had bigger A-pills and therefore gave the perspective of feeling bigger from the cabin while the 100 had much better vis. That's typical of a lot of newer vehicles and is one more advantage of our 'old' trucks.

It's smoky topaz. I mean blizzard pearl.....wait which one? :flipoff2:

for some reason I was thinking you were riverrock. my bad! :)

old thread but looking for the weight difference between a fj62 and a fc100.

62 is 4,597lbs. 100 is 5,390lbs. It's literally at the top of the thread. That's 2.085kg and 2.445kg respectively.

LX470 too much rust for Buy??

Good Evening forum, Im new to the forum but have been a lurker for awhile. Looking to get into overlanding and found a NE LX470 and I am unsure of how much rust is too much for this vehicles undercarriage. I am stationed in GA and do no have access to get eyes on, but the seller has graciously provided pics........Please Advise. TThanks in advance.

Rust seems to be somewhat minimal. Suggest a first hand look before purchase. Looks like it was just pressure washed/steam cleaned. It the pictures show the worst, you should be ok. Ding them for $1,000 due to rust. Scrap, wire brush and paint.

Thanks! Sorry missed it on my phone.

Maybe this will help in a more graphic manner, all pictures were taken at the same spot, same day.

Can someone please post a link or info about that front bumper setup?

That is exactly what I have in mind for my future 100. Damn, that looks good!
