Hello everyone - I picked up a 00' LC a few months back and joined this forum soon after. I'm just about ready to start some customizations/upgrades but I have a questions about some preinstalled items from the previous owner that I am unsure of.

I've attached a few pictures below. The previous owner was an old lady but there appears to be a CB radio mounted...and then there is a mystery transmitter on the dash and something under the glove box. I'm guessing the CB was installed by the original owner (I'm the 3rd and last).

Can anyone help identify these items just so I can be sure?

CB Radio I believe: (best way to remove this? or should I not?)

CB Radio transmitter maybe?

Not sure what this is if anything at all:

I know you guys prob aren't a fan of the brush guard or running boards but here's my baby:

Upgrades I'm planning and considering:

7" alpine GPS headunit (already purchased, installing today)
Suspension upgrades
Tires/Possible lift
Rear backup camera
Headlight upgrade of some sort
Fog light upgrade and/or new front bumper
Fixing rip in leather drivers seat

Congrats on your purchase. Looks like your first picture is an aftermarket trailer brake controller, only used if pulling a trailer. The second picture is the sensor for the auto headlights. Your third pic looks like the box for the ac evaporator.

Oh cool ty Greco. I thought it might have been a cb radio mount of some sort. It's really annoying because I'm tall and my right knee goes right into it...and then also while driving my keychain rests right on it and vibrates which is annoying.

It's not a CB. It's the hookup for an aftermarket trailer brake controller.

before you remove the brake controller, try to talk into it. please film this and attach youtube vid to this thread....

Will do thanks! Haha yea I'm a newb but want to learn....got to start somewhere!

Another weird question - I bought an alpine in dash GPS/DVD unit and the installer said there was no power coming from the 12v line. He said he added some sort of mini fuse something or other and ran a wire to the fuse box. Everything works but is this something I should be concerned with?

It was a reputable shop who did the install but this guy seemed like he was high when I met with him...

Again, it's not a CB. I'm not sure how your model year truck is wired, but those wires either go to a plug under the dash, or they get routed all the way to the harness in the back. Don't just cut them and start yanking. If it unplugs under the dash, just unbolt the bracket and unplug the unit.

If you ever plan to pull a horse trailer, camper or anything heavy with electric brakes, you'll be happy you have that.

If you search "Brake Controller" in the 100 section, you'll find a lot of info. https://forum.ih8mud.com/search.php?searchid=11215322
