1/76 FJ55 Wyoming NO LONGER PARTING OUT

Parting out a Jan-76 mfg FJ55. This is a ranch truck from Montana that shows 77k on the clock. Rigger and I picked up the truck for the factory disc brake wheels, 4 spd trans/transfer, and disc brake front axle. The rest is up for grabs. As you can see in the pics, most of the body is beat, although with minimal rust. Rear passenger doors are useble, interior is shot, Dash controls are mostly intact, dash pad and glove box are useble, hood is useble, frame is clean/no significant rust. 2F is mostly complete, missing smog pump, alternator, and air cleaner. Motor turns over effortlessly, oil looks like it was just changed. This vehicle has been sitting for around 18 years. There is a thread in the FJ55 Preservation section showing the recovery. Rig is located in Sheridan, WY. Delivery to Billings MT can be arranged. All parts will be tested prior to shipping.

[drooling].....

Shoot me a PM on the apron vent thingies, glove box door, and I MUST HAVE THE DQ BLIZZARD CUP/AIR HORN for the carb.

2f Motor

I set up the motor for a compression test. The oil on the dipstick was right at the correct level and looked like it had just been changed. I pulled the plugs and squirted oil in each cylinder and let it sit. I had previously put the rig in gear and pushed it back a little to see that the engine was free. I also removed the carb to make sure the intake was clean. It was. The initial compression test showed 150, 0, 0, 0, 150, 150. I pulled the valve cover and found that the valves had been set too tight. I also noted that the inside of the head had been painted. I have only seen this on rebuilt components. I backed the valves off about 1/8 turn to loosen them up and reran the compression. It is 150 down the line.

It looks like at least the top end of the motor has been rebuilt. The odometer show 77k and from the looks of the mechanics, I don't believe it has turned over.

We would like to sell the motor complete with carb, distributor, coil/ignitor, water pump, etc. It is missing the alternator and smog pump. This is a Jan 1976 rig.

$500 or resonable offer.

Coil and Ignitor $50?

Still for sale? I see the thread directly above this regarding complete engine sale. Let me know, shipped to 33431 if available.

When I listed the coil and ignitor, I didn't expect the engine to be good. I would like to sell it with the motor. However, if I don't get any interest this week, I will honor the price for you.

What kind of shape is the tailgate and rear window rubber? Thanks Terry 7 cylinders?

The rubber looks pretty rough to me. The side rear window rubber is pretty good but has some cracks and would probably not come out well. Let me know if you want me to try to get it out. $25 for all of it, mostly for the time.

Think I will pass on rubber. It doesn't look like it would survive the removal. I appreciate your time to post pics and answer. Good luck on sale. Terry

Floor mats

Drivers side is worn and a little brittle. The rest are "useble" and need cleaning.

Is there an interior dome light? I want to put a second in mine while I am redoing my headliner.

Front retractable shoulder seat belts and buckles? someone may want to add some shoulder harnesses to their rears for added safety for the younguns.....;)

Seatbelts have all been cut and/or removed.

Dome light is good. $5 for the lense or $10 for the assembly.

I would like the whole assembly, thanks

Interested in the hood if it is the "high" hood with no cracks. I assume the front door trim panels are ripped or torn? If not I'm interested, even if the backer board is bad.

This is the high hood with the vents by the cowl. It is not cracked but it is dented, apparently from something being on top of it. No front end collision damage. No kinks or stretches.

Front door panels are trashed. Passenger rears arent that great either.
