I am finally getting new shocks. I am planning on the Old Man Emu Medium, suspension with the Slee Lift Kit. Do I go with the 1.5" or 2.5" lift. With a Gobi rack adding 6" to my roof deck, and am running 285 (32" tall) tires. I am concerned I may not to get my rig in to my garage with a 6'10" clearance.

Thoughts?

My '06 TLC with 275/70/18 Nitto AT Terra Grapplers, OME HD 2.5" lift with sport comfort shocks, diff drop, torsion bars, 2" rear coil springs, Slee blue berry bumper with Warn 9.5xp winch, Slee rear bumper with rear tire and ladder swing-outs , Metal Tech sliders and an OEM roof rack barely clears my 6'10" garage height with 1-2" to spare when it is not loaded. When I add a Thule cross bar for my awning, I have less than 1/4" of clearance. I'd be very surprised if your vehicle with a 6" rack added would fit with either lift kit. If you want to take some measurements of your existing height, maybe I can help you get a better idea. Let me know.

The gobi rack is 6" high?

Seems like you should take that off between trips just for gas savings.

I have 295s and the 2.5" lift and a labrak and I'm at 6'6" So if the Gobi is 6" tall. How tall is your truck with the rack now?

I got the 1.5" lift. Then I kept hitting my sliders on rock on the first rock garden I had to drive through. Wasted a lot of money not going straight to 295s and the 2.5" lift.

I took some more measurements tonight...my truck sits 6'6" tall with the rack as it currently stands. My garage is 6'10". With new OME medium shocks and suspension, will the overall gain with a 2.5" lift be 2.5" or something different?

Brad.... I think you'll be good with the 2.5 and much happier overall too.

I have the OME HD 1.5" with 33s and its a great all around set up. Never an issue getting into garages with surfboards or gear on the roof. However, I have not and never will take the 100 into a rock garden.

You don't happen to know the height of your 100 with the 1.5" and 33's?

I am getting a 100 soon and wanted to see if it'll fit in the garage with the same setup. My 80 has the OME stock height (~1" maybe 1.5") lift with 33's and barely fits but it does fit.

Thanks .. sorry for the mini hijack.. you can just PM me with an answer if possible.

Thanks Stan...I will confirm with Christo as well, since he'll be installing the new suspension for me.

Brad,

I have the 2.5" lift, 275/70R18 (33") tires, and the Gobi stealth and I do not think mine will not fit in my garage. I have taken it into a 7'-0" parking garage without any problems. If I think about it tonight, I will take some measurements and post them here.

Thanks TXBeachCruiser....I pinged Christo with the details and he thinks that the suspension and 2.5" lift will add about 3" to the rear of my rig, with a bit of rake, so I think I will be ok with the 2.5" lift. I would love to see your measurments on your rig though just as a comparison. Thanks!

My rig with the OEM rack, clears the 6' 10' garage by 5"- I guess it just looks like i'm going to hit every time I drive in! My rig is 6' 5" high with the OEM rack which is a little over 3" above the roof. If I am doing the math correctly, you would have around 8 inches to play with if you don't have the OEM rack so if your Gobi mounted on the roof and not on the OEM rack you "should" be OK. I don't know how the weight of bumpers, spare, removed rear seats will affect everything. I forgot to mention that I have removed the third row seats.
Hope this helps!
Christo did a phenomenal job on my vehicle- I love all the mods and the quality work- you can't go wrong with his accessories and crew!:beer:
