1.5" Front Shock Spacers (1 Viewer)

Since adding the ARB bumber, my front end has dropped about 1". When I get around to adding a winch, I estimate my front end will drop another 1/2" at a minimum.

I am looking for a 1.5" spacer to level things out. From reading many posts on this board, it seems that some have gone with rubber gaskets and others with aluminum. The rubber ones seem to go on top of the spring and aluminum go on top of the shock tower itself.

What would you all recommend and where is the best place to buy it?

I think you mean a front spring spacer, not shock. Are you running stock springs? If so, then you might want to get a lift and tires before you get a winch. And the lift springs will also net more weight to be added before you need spacers.

As of right now, all 1.5" spacers are custom, search it. FZJFilmore made some, as did another member or two.

Yes, I mean spring spacers. I have the OEM suspension with no lift. I wasn't planning on adding a lift because the wife hates to climb in and out of the Cruiser to begin with - says it is too high.

I was just looking to "level things out". I did not know that the 1.5" spring spacers were custom made. Anyone out there looking to sell a pair? If not, I suppose my only options are the rubber gaskets - huh?

You could get the OME low-lift/stock height replacement springs. You'll gain about an inch of lift and have the extra support for the new bumper.

Man-a-fre makes 30mm spring spacers that are pretty nice. I believe that is about 1.2 inches. Probably won't be enough though if you want perfect stock height, I would imagine arb + winch would lower the front a good bit considering how much it dropped the front of my car and I have j's.

I wouldn't use rubber spacers. They compress to the ridiculous and are a waste of labor. The poly spacers hold up well and should be good for a few years. Best is the metal spacers which I think are lifetime affairs.

Not all is lost, my wife says the extra height is nice to have, can better spot parking spaces at the shopping mall. . She also mentions handling is much improved over the springs with 150k miles...

So..have the ladies take a test drive, if possible, before giving up on the lift.

The misses even approved the future Revo 285s. ;p

The low-lift/stock height replacement springs, not the kit, is all that is needed.

Before adding that kind of weight to an old suspension I would do as others have recomended. I got the OME stock height springs which add about 1/2 inch and ride so much nicer. Plus my stock shocks were shot at 111K.

PM toolsrus this site for aluminum spring/stop spacers. Can be made from 1", 1 1/4, or 1 1/2" material. Mine are 1 1/4" and work perfectly. This has come up before. He invented the spacer, it's made in the machine shop next door, and supplies are skimpy. Put in an order and pray for love.
