Had an AC failure and had to get it fixed. Ended up taking to dealership since the LC/LX shop was backed up for a month.

The dealership diagnosed the failure of the compressor...needed AC receiver drier, compressor and compressor clutch. I wasn't excited to pay dealer pricing but they were willing let me order the parts from another local lexus dealership that I get all my parts from at 28% off msrp. All in all, I didn't get the gut pain of paying a dealership to do the work as they discounted the labor, let me order own parts and had a loaner for almost 3 weeks bc they gave me a wrong part number.

Picked it up and was good for half a day and then it came back with a compressor lock code B1422. Took it back in and they thought it might be the AC amplifier. I am not convinced and think it might be a leak but can't find too much in the archives on this issue.

Any thoughts?

Update…apparently the mechanic installed the magnetic clutch backwards.

Everything is under warranty and dealer is covering costs and being up front on the diagnostics. I am curious if there are potential issues up/down stream with this snafu.

I asked for the electrical schematics so I could see other wiring interfaces.

Thoughts?
