As a few of you know we've been kicking around and looking for a used, 05-07 4Runner. Han came across this one up in Santa Fe - it's a 07 Sport Edition, certified used, for $25484. I know we'll always pay more at a dealer....and for the certified used. Question is the certified used worth the extra price? Some quick research on Edmunds shows TMV value to be around $21k, but that never seems to match up with the price they're selling for.

The above link will bring you to their pre-owned page, it's set where I can't figure out how to link directly - it's the 07 Sport Edition. Anyway, take a look and see what you think. Looking to pull the trigger on one fairly shortly.

Thanks!

How much extra is the "certified" price and how long is it good for? I bought our '99 certified and then a u-joint went bad, and they replaced the whole driveshaft - it's been fine since. I think it's only good until 100 k miles?

I know that Honda's terms on Certified used are 12 months/12K miles comprehensive warranty from when you buy it used and then 7 years/100K miles powertrain warranty from date of first purchase when it was new.

Its 7yrs or 100k for powertrain from date sold new and 3 months or 3000 mi comprehensive. The price seems in line with other 07s with <60k miles. Maybe we can haggle on the price a little....

I'd think you'd be way ahead driving a few and then shopping around for one from a private party.

Im sure that you can get them to come down on the price, they always want more for their cars!!
The powertrain warranty is pretty good on CPO Toyotas, covered quite a bit of stuff.

Warranty

Good luck
Daisy
