Toasted waterpump left a friend stranded this past weekend. He has the 3.7 V6.

I'm going back with him tonight to put a new one on. From what I could tell from a quick glance at the motor and rockauto.com it looks like all mounting bolts are straight out the front and it utilizes an 0-ring seal, so there shouldn't be any gasket or sealer to clean off, correct?

Would rather not have any suprises while we're working on this thing on the side of the road so please post up if you know anything about this repair!

Drove back up to N. GA after work and put in the new pump.

It uses an o-ring seal (maybe that's common now on newer engines?), which makes it a breeze to R&R, no gasket to scrape, no silicone to clean.

I didn't think his one gallon of G-05 coolant would be enough, but it turns out the whole cooling system capacity is 9 QUARTS ?!
