no power to anything in the rear gate: power window, wiper, defrost. is there a single fuse that handles all these items?

if yes, which one, i cant seem to figure it out.

if no, could i possibly have a greater issue such as a faulty or damaged wire harness?

thanks,

jeff

Check fuse 38 it controls rear wiper. It is the fuse block in the vehicle.

it is all the way up. using the key to try to power the window up or down doesnt work, neither does the switch. appears to be in the fully up position.

Won't go up or down with the switch inside? There is a back door ECU that controls all of that stuff.

Usually a bad ground from lack of use. Slam the hatch a few times to shake things up Once u get it goin cycle it a bunch of times.

That's what mine was

thanks for the feedback, i found a long thread on tundrasolutions about it. removed rear gate cover and tapped on the mechanism while the button was depressed. seems to have fixed the gate for now.

i imagine slamming the hatch would have had a similar effect without as much work on my part.

I was looking at this on Saturday and there is a service bulletin on the motor and/or ecu. If you google I'm sure you'll find it. I'm not sure if it's the same problem but it might be worth checking into in case it goes out on you again.

great to know, thanks for the heads up

When my wife drove the Sequoia she didn't use the rear window much and after a few months it would stop working and I would do the same thing you mentioned with tapping on the mechanism in the door. I use the window regularly and have not had a problem.
