02 sensor

I'm confused.
My cat is full of holes, and I'm ready to buy an aftermarket, but am concerned regarding the 02 sensor.
Mine is an 84 FJ60, and some people tell me there IS NO 02 sensor, and others say there is.
( these other people, btw, are not from this board)
Before i order a cat, what about the sensor? do i have one? do i need to get a new one?

It is a temp sensor and its resistance changes at it gets hotter. It is not a oxygen sensor. You can test the one you have with the factory smog manual. Basically if it gets to hot the ABV valve closes a valve which stop sending air from your air pump down the air rail on the fender to burn unburned fuel. They cost a ton at the dealer. I would get a CAT with the hole unless you are not worried about passing smog.

so its actually called the temp sensor?
i looked at sor's site, and couldnt find mention of any sort of temp sensor in regards to cat's.
i read all the threads mentioned above, and am still confused. In new jersey, they inspect the hell out of cars, fail them if you look funny. I wondering, do i order a cat with a hole for my sensor? do you think any of the aftermarket people are even going to understand what im talking about. it seems theat there is a 50-50 chance i will get the wrong one anyway.

where is this temp sensor? i do not have anything on my cat. ZILCH not even anything for anything to connect to

temp sensor.. thermal sensor.. not sure the exact name.

You want the aftermarket one like mine with the hole if you are in NJ. Call a good CAT place and they will know what you need.
I ordered mine from here. I think I talked to Fred. He was very knowledgable and answered all my questions.

In this picture my orginal stock CAT is the big one above and you can see the hole and the back passenger side of the CAT where it went.

This was the aftermarket CAT with showing how it is inserted. If you look at the floorboard it come right through close to the e-brake cable.

SOR calls it a O2 sensor too which is wrong.

nj cat- got a after market cat!

well- got my aftermarket cat- passed- the temp sensor makes the cat go on at a wierd angle- but it passed- the new cat seems to pass more air- or maybe the olderone was pretty clogged- or maybe there was other issues?? but it passed and that is all that i care about- now i can fine tune for a while- the photos above are exact-
