Are the 02 sensors in the 80's, specifically the 97 FZJ80 compatible with other toyotas or are they like other parts and used just for the 80? Reason I ask is I'm fixin to try something on the new exhaust and want to know how much trouble I'll be in if it don't go as planned. :princess:

try asking the guy at www.oxygensensors.com he was really helpful and he said he sold alot of landcruiser O2 sensors. It is a small time internet operation so I think he he wouldn't mind answering a simple question to one of his potential customers. Unfortunately I forgot his name. good luck.

Junk - I think the sensors on the LC are a different design than on other toyotas--at least on my other toyotas.

The LC design does not use the socket type/screw-in sensor, but has a flange with two studs mounted on the exhaust. My other toys have the standard screw-in type.

Toyota must use this type on "alot" of toyotas as when we went to my "we have a parts dept but no parts " had it . :D
O2 are mostly made by one company and they make them for OEM . The biggie is find a 4 wire unit (heated) spice your old harness on and get a weld in bung for the screw in type .

Koffer - I just cut out the old one, cleaned it up and had them weld it into the new.

For this question though, I was curious if it was worthwhile to make up some adapters so folks wouldn't have to do the same thing.
