...where the redwoods meet the ocean...
should the vehicle automatically lower to the low setting when it's parked (for entry/exit of passengers)?

can I get some info on the dial for shock settings...currently it is set on the larger dot for comfort sport I believe.

when driving it appears as though it goes into the nuetral height setting...is it suppose to lower back down some at a certain speed (maybe 65 mph or so?) for aerodynamic needs?

thanks for any help/info...it appears most ahc threads are maintenance or removal related.

The vehicle should not automatically lower when it is parked.

Turning the dial to the right makes the shocks stiffer. I use this on the highway. Left is loose...Better on some trails or rough pavement.

As soon as you go above 20 or 30km/h, it will go to neutral from high or low. This is normal, and probably designed to protect the CV's...and maybe keep you from cruising at high speed and high mode to reduce roll-over potential...

thanks...so the vehicle will never automatically be in low mode?

If your pressure is too low, the vehicle can automatically drop to low. Search for "Techstream". With that software and a USB/ODB2 cable, you can check the neutral pressures and adjust using the torsion bar bolts. Also search for neutral pressures, if you are having problems staying in "N".

I too have recently acquired a 2002 LX 470.
Your questions are the same as I had.
The reality I think is that raising the suspension to high or low is of little value.
So far I have only found one use -- raising the LX to High when I needed to get under
it to install Trailer Brake Controller wiring.

BTW, I was thinking that the driver door had to be closed to raise/lower - is that correct??????

Yes, doors must be closed.

Good info here on what might happen with the dash indicators when towing.

Also, noobies to AHC should spend some time in this thread to familiarize themselves with the system and be able to diagnose what condition their system is in.

Low to Normal automatically happens at 9 mph.
High to Normal automatically happens at 19 mph.
These numbers may be a bit different if you are in 4x4 low, I can't remember how it behaves different but it does. Someone has written about it here but I didn't bookmark it.

Don't forget you can register at the official Lexus site and order hard copy manuals, or download them if that's preferable, under the Driver section if your vehicle didn't come with a copy. Then you can RTFM ;)
