Hello everyone. I have spent some time using the search tool here looking for an answer to my transfer case issue, then i decided to ask for help. I live in Pittsburgh, PA (anyone around would love to go wheeling some time). i have a 02 LC with only 93K and after checking with my mechanic about a cluncking noise when I engage in gear from park, he told me the transfer case is getting bad... Any suggestions for a place to buy one? :hhmm: anyone knows of an aftermarket company for this year LC? I appreciate any help! Thanks!

That driveline clunk is normal. I learned from a member here that you can smooth out the transition a little bit by going to Neutral, waiting a few moments, and then putting it in D. Then the clunk won't be as "harsh". There are dozens of parts you can lube up to ease the noise, I have not bothered with it but plenty of others here will chime in with solutions.

I am not an expert, but it seems very uncommon for a t case to be bad on a Landcruiser at 95k miles. I would try greasing the driveshafts and yokes on the driveshaft with moly lube only. Read some threads before you do it. If you buy a grease gun but one with a smaller size fitting. I am from Pittsburgh. Call me and we can meet up. 412-513-6748
