0-20 oil in a 5.7 - is 0-30 a 'free upgrade' if you tow/strain?

I'll be the 1st to say oil threads are goofy so maybe we can keep this simple.

-No brands.
-Keep dino vs syth to a minimum. synth is just made from NG & I worked in a gas refinery, so I know that simple fact.

-------------------------

What I hope we can keep a simple conversation is the concept of 0-20 oil as recommended by Mr. T in the 5.7 is 'free upgrades' - I tow so I don't give 2 cents my MPG.

Is 0-30 a better choice for me to just run brainlessly over 0-20?
The goofy 'Yota book says '5-20 works but change ASAP'.
No mention of -30 weights made, and I suspect it's the MPG/emissions thing like how 5w30 is the printed oil for a 1FZ, but 10-30 is really better longterm/under load.

Yes - I understand climate of use is a factor too - and I'm in WA state. So for me the bottom number by Yota is a good starter, but is -20 as a top number really good?

Also, planning to supercharge it soon, the extra HP for towing being my main driver there.
Is that a factor?

EDIT : I looked on 'Bob is the oil guy' - didn't see any real dead answer, maybe I just stink on the site - if you see something, I'm all ears(eyes?).

I have 297 on my 08 tundra with oil changes at 12k with mobile one 5-30 syn. Bob the oil guy stated that mobile one runs thin and is closer to a 20w than a 30w. Have sent off oil for analysis no abnormalities.
