engine cover

I've been hesitant to cut the LX engine covers but I'm often changing or exchanging the air filters. Wanted to pull together a thread to see how people might be cutting them for best function vs aesthetics. For those that may not know, it's pretty important to keep the section of the covers...

Hey guys, I watched a YouTube video, I don't remember what about. The guy had his main engine cover hinged in the back and some kind if catch in the front. I think he was using the oem catches maybe modified somehow. He could lift it at the front to reveal the massive beauty underneath...
