casting numbers

This is on the side of my 3Bii block. Original engine, vehicle construction date 07/1989: Now I read this as '9' meaning 1989, and '6' meaning June. or could it be Week 6 of 1989? No idea what UB means! Wondering if anyone knows more or can correct me? Before anyone chimes in with it, no...
