1fz rebuild

In my never ending search for a 80, and one being sold from under me, came across one reasonably priced and sub 200k miles, only problem seller states is a bad speedo, is the speedo connected to the odometer? I know in rovers they use a weird combination of the tcase and wheel speed sensors...
